Man, Reportedly With A Gun, Taken To Concord Hospital For Evaluation

Concord police are investigating a reported psyche issue and possible gun threat incident at an apartment complex on Loudon Road on Friday.

CONCORD, NH — A man having a psyche issue at a Loudon Road apartment complex was taken to Concord Hospital for treatment after an incident on Friday morning.

Around 9 a.m., police dispatch received a call from a woman who claimed there was a man she knew in her apartment who had a firearm and was having an episode. Officers quickly arrived at the apartment, located at the Salisbury Green complex, and surrounded the building.

One of the officers, at about 9:15 a.m., found the man and detained him in handcuffs. Officers began searching the area for the firearm and also entered the complex to search the apartment.

The man was taken to Concord Hospital while officers searched the area and building.

While speaking with the man, an officer learned the firearm was inside a closet under some clothing. The gun had a magazine with bullets inside, but there was not a bullet in the chamber, an officer relayed to others.

Around 9:45 a.m., a Smith & Wesson handgun and a Glock handgun were found inside the apartment, according to scanner chatter. No additional weapons were found, according to police.

Officers cleared the scene around 10:15 a.m.
