Man Pepper Sprayed After Attacking Cops With Sticks: Report

Cobie Gregory of Webster was arrested on Route 3A after a confrontation with local and state police investigating an assault incident.

BOW, NH — A local man was arrested this morning after a run-in with police at a local convenience store, according to a press report. Cobie Gregory, 49, of Webster, was arrested on June 17, 2017, for simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and two counts of criminal threatening. Bow Police were sent to the All Town Convenience Store on Route 3A at around 1:45 a.m. this morning to investigate an assault incident.

When they arrived, the suspect – later identified as Gregory – allegedly fled into a wooded area behind the store, according to Lt. Scott Hayes of the Bow Police Department.

“Gregory, armed with wooden sticks, became belligerent, and began fighting with officers,” he stated. “Gregory was ultimately pepper sprayed, and apprehended by a State Police K-9, before being taken into custody.”

While in custody Gregory “continued to act belligerent, spitting, and fighting with officers,” and was transported to the hospital before being released to the Merrimack County House of Corrections in Concord. He was released later and is due in court on July 24.
