CONCORD, NH — Investigators in the Queen City may have more information about a shooting in Manchester after a chase on Interstate 93 and through Concord's east side. Around 2:45 a.m. Saturday, police in Manchester were sent to the area of the Red Arrow Diner on Lowell Street for a report of gunshots. When police arrived, they found two people shot.

The victims were taken to the hospital, according to the report.

"This incident is under investigation and does not appear to be a random act," according to Lt. Peter Marr of the Manchester Police Department.

Undercover police officers in Manchester, however, began chasing the driver of a black Ford Explorer along Interstate 93 north Saturday on a lead related to the case. After the driver took Exit 14, around 7:30 p.m., those officers called New Hampshire State Police in to assist. State police dispatch then informed Concord police about the chase.

The driver of the Ford traveled east on Loudon Road to Ormond Street and turned at the 7-Eleven, according to scanner chatter. State police dispatch reported the driver turning into the Concord Gardens Apartment complex just as Concord dispatch informed its officers that the suspect vehicle had a registration at the Gardens.

Concord officers headed to that area, covering all sides of the complex to keep the driver from fleeing the area. At the same time, Manchester police made contact with the person in the car.

Dispatch in Concord twice referenced to officers in the field that the vehicle was connected to a shooting. While dispatch did not specifically mention the Red Arrow Diner incident, that case is the most recent shooting incident in Manchester and police are actively investigating it as well as a bank robbery and store robbery that also occurred Saturday morning.

A subject was detained by Manchester police in the area of Building 24 as state troopers arrived to the area, according to dispatch. About 10 minutes later, Concord units cleared the scene.

Heather Hamel, the public information officer for the Manchester Police Department, confirmed police were in Concord and following up on a lead but no arrest was made in the case though.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Manchester police at 603-668-8711 and reference case No. 19-18471.
