Letter to the Editor:
My husband, Mark Zerba, is running for a seat on the Budget Committee in Bow. Mark earned his B.S. in Business Administration from UNH in 1992. He has worked for Amica Insurance for 23 years. We moved to Bow with our 7 year old daughter in 2012 because of Bow’s excellent school reputation. The community has proven to be a welcoming and positive environment for new residents. Mark is running for a seat on the Budget Committee because he wants to ensure that Bow practices fiscal responsibility while not losing sight of the fact that the quality of the schools is one of the most important factors in families’ decisions to live in or move into town. Declining tax revenue from the power plant and the pending legal outcome present challenges that Bow is dealing with now and will be dealing with in future years. It is incumbent upon Bow’s elected officials that we identify solutions that balance the needs and interests of all taxpayers. For some Budget Committee candidates, lowering the tax rate is the only issue that matters, even if the schools deteriorate. A strong school system benefits everyone in the community. Mark will be committed to responsible budgets that ensure the continuing quality of the schools.
Mark is honest, fair and responsible. He is invested in the community, and as a member of the Budget Committee, will serve our town with the utmost respect and consideration. I hope you will join me and vote for Mark Zerba on Tuesday.
