Marshals Asked to Hunt for Missing Reckless Conduct Suspect

This week's NH Fugitive of the Week, Hayden Moon, allegedly fled a traffic stop in Belmont while an officer fired at his vehicle on Friday.

CONCORD, NH — A Lakes Region man who reportedly fled from a traffic stop last week – that resulted in a police officer firing his gun at the fleeing vehicle – is this week’s District of New Hampshire - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Fugitive of the Week. Hayden Alan Moon, 24, is wanted on warrants by the Belmont Police Department for obstructing governmental operations and reckless conduct.

Moon is 6 feet tall, 175 lbs., with blue eyes and blonde hair. He has tattoos on his wrists and arms.

The warrants were issued against Moon on Oct. 28, 2016, after he allegedly fled from police in Belmont, driving toward Route 106. At just after 1:30 a.m., a Belmont officer stopped a vehicle on South Road, according to New Hampshire State Police. The driver – Moon – had an active warrant and when the officer attempted to arrest him, he reportedly drove away. The officer fired his weapon multiple times at the vehicle. It was located later that morning.

“Moon has been in hiding since this incident,” according to Jeffrey White of the U.S. Marshals Service. “Moon has extensive ties to the Lakes Region and is possibly still in this area.”

Moon is no stranger to police.

About three weeks ago, he was arrested by Concord Police on drug charges on North State Street.

In January 2015, according to the Laconia Daily Sun, Moon was indicted on two counts of sale of a controlled drug. In December 2014, he was arrested by the Tilton Police Department for sale of a narcotic drug-heroin, according to a department post on Facebook.
