Marshals Searching for NH Convict Wanted for Burglary

Do you know where Randall Root Jr. is? He is wanted on two burglary charges and is this week's Fugitive of the Week.

CONCORD, NH — The District of New Hampshire - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is asking for the public’s help in finding Randall C. Root Jr. who is wanted for failure to appear in court on two burglary charges.

Root – who also goes by the name of Randy Root – is 27 or 28, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighs 160 lbs. He has blonde hair, blue eyes, and a medium build. Root has numerous tattoos including a pin-up girl on his leg, the grim reaper, and one saying, “Mom,” with a hard and wings. He also has scars on his eye, hand, and calf.

The warrants for Root’s arrest were issued in August 2015, according to Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal. The charges were in Belknap and Grafton counties. In one of the incidents, according to the Laconia Daily Sun, he allegedly burglarized a home in Gilmanton in August 2014. He has an extensive criminal record dating back to 2010, including convictions for receiving stolen property, witness tampering, and bail jumping.

“Root was last known to reside in Alexandria, NH, where he has family, friends and associates,” according to White. “If you know of the whereabouts of Root, or have observed a person that resembles him, please contact the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, or your local police.”

Do not attempt to apprehend Root yourself. Report any info to the USMS district office at 603-225-1632, or call 1-877-WANTED-2, or submit a WEB-TIP, or TEXT NHTIP with any information to TIP411.

According to online reports, Root was arrested in August 2014 in Derry after allegedly stealing a Ford Mustang. He was charged with conduct after an accident, possession of a controlled drug and receiving stolen property at that time but other charges from Raymond and Chester were expected.

The last time anyone saw Root was in August 2015 when he allegedly fled from police on I-93 North in New Hampton, reaching 95 mph, according to WMUR-TV. He reportedly abandoned the car but police issued warrants for disobeying a police officer, reckless operation, driving while impaired and possession of a controlled drug, and also had an active warrant out of Bristol.
