CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is requesting the public’s help finding an “armed and dangerous” fugitive wanted on probation, drug distribution and possession, and weapon warrants.

Aaron Tyler Butler is 33, about 6 feet, 1 inch tall, and weighs 200 pounds. He has blue eyes and strawberry-blond hair. Butler has numerous tattoos on his neck and body. Warrants for his arrest were issued on Nov. 2 and Nov. 14 for a federal probation violation and state charges which include felon in possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine, with intent to distribute, Andrew Grillo, a deputy marshal, said.

“Butler was previously incarcerated in 2006 for assault with a dangerous weapon,” he said. “However, prison does not seem to prevent Butler from dealing drugs or assaultive behavior, as he has charges for both while incarcerated.”

Butler may be in Carroll County, although “his network extends throughout New England,” Grillo said.

“The public and law enforcement should use caution if encountering Butler, as he is considered armed and dangerous,” he added.

Grillo said Newport police accused him of possessing multiple firearms and the drugs. He was previously convicted for conspiracy to distribute heroin in 2019.

According to superior court records, the 2006 case involved second-degree assault and criminal threatening charges in October and December 2006 in Sullivan County. He pleaded guilty to both charges. Butler was charged with conspiracy to sell and sale of controlled-narcotic drugs in April 2011 and pleaded guilty to both charges in January 2012. In Concord in February 2012, he was arrested on controlled drug and false report charges after an incident on Loudon Road in July 2011. Butler was living in Goshen at the time.

If you know where Butler is or see someone who looks like him, do not try to apprehend him. Call your local police department or the task force at 603-225-1632.
