McAuliffe School Making Fixes

Workers at Concord elementary school digging in the dirt.

If you’ve driven by the McAuliffe Elementary School in Concord recently, the Paul and Peggo Hodes song, “Diggin’ in the Dirt,” might have popped into your head.

Workers at the school have been digging up trenches and installing wood and stone and an effort to re-route water on the site. There have been major drainage issues at the school since opening in 2012. Officials hope the improvements will keep the playground from becoming muddy and limit damage to the school into the future.

Here’s a link to last week’s Patch story about some of the issues as well as a quick video highlighting some of the work that was being done on Aug. 7.
