McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center Expands Hours

Spring, April vacation bring special programs.

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center will be open seven days a week for spring vacation, from Saturday, April 18 through Sunday, May 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with special programs to welcome spring, according to a press statement.

“Sunstruck”, a new planetarium show on the life-giving and dangerous properties of the Sun, will play daily at noon, followed by the return of “Attack of the Space Pirates”, a show that spans the universe, filled with misbehaving aliens.

Discovery Center visitors can participate in the first National Math Festival on Saturday, April 18 by making math-inspired bubbles, as the Discovery Center is one of 80 science museums nationwide selected to host a geometric bubble station. The station will stay in operation daily throughout spring vacation.
