Meetings and Notes

The two meetings this past week - Langley Parkway and Rezoning for the Penacook Village - both had good attendance. As reported the Langley Parkway meeting had about 125 people attending, and while there was much going on this past Saturday, the Village meeting attracted more than 30 participants. 

The Village meeting once again saw community members working with city staff and consultants. The purpose of the meeting is to find solutions that will lead to redevelopment of the Village while preserving the historic characteristics of Penacook, by updating the Village’s zoning.

There will be many more meetings with staff and the consultants to give community members an opportunity to state their ideas for how best to move forward with the continued redevelopment of Penacook’s business district. I anticipate that after the New Year, when there is less competition for peoples time, we will see even more of you at these meetings.

There was also a meeting hosted by the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce to look at suggestions for sprucing up Concord from I-93. They have a slide show with some of the ideas they presented at the meeting. Take a look and let them know what you think.

And at the most recent Planning Board meeting they held the public hearing for the Dollar General store that is proposed to be built next to CC Tomatoes. Last week I met with Paul Henle our State Representative for Ward 2. He suggested that we find a way to make ourselves available for the folks in Ward 2 to let us know what you think. It looks like we will be able to have our first meeting sometime in January - when we all get back to normal after the holiday season. I’ll keep you posted as we iron out the details with where we will be meeting and the date and time.
