CONCORD, NH — The Mega Millions jackpot is continuing to climb since there has not been a winner since early June, according to lottery officials.

Friday’s jackpot is estimated to be $627 million, with a one-time cash payout, before taxes, of $309.1 million. Officials said it would be the ninth-largest jackpot on record.

“Big jackpots mean big sales, which means a big return for New Hampshire public education, and that is what we are all about,” Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, said. “Nothing gets our players more excited than a growing jackpot, especially with this Mega Millions jackpot now surpassing the $600 million mark. That excitement has translated to increased sales in stores and online through NH iLottery over the past week. Let’s start the holiday weekend off right with a big New Hampshire winner come Friday night!”
