Mega Millions Jackpot Approaching Half A Billion Dollars

No one has won since the $1.35 billion mid-January jackpot. The one-time cash payout for Friday's drawing will be around $256 million.

CONCORD, NH — Lottery officials are excited again because the Friday Mega Millions jackpot is approaching half a billion dollars.

If anyone wins, the jackpot is expected to be around $476 million, with an estimated one-time cash payout of $256 million, before taxes.

“We are thrilled for our New Hampshire players as the Mega Millions jackpot is quickly approaching the half-a-billion-dollar mark,” Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of New Hampshire Lottery, said. “We are expecting a steady increase in sales as this jackpot continues to rise, and we encourage players to get their tickets now for a chance to win this life-changing prize.”

Mega Millions has not been won since Jan. 13, with a player in Maine winning the $1.35 billion jackpot. A player from South Carolina won the largest Mega Millions jackpot of $1.537 billion in October 2018. That was the third-highest lottery jackpot in history.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:59 p.m. Tickets are on sale at more than 1,200 retailers statewide and online at NH iLottery.

More than $2.45 billion in education funding has been financed by the lottery.
