CONCORD, NH — After two dozen consecutive drawings without a winner, Friday’s Mega Millions is again climbing toward the $1 billion mark.

The jackpot on Friday is expected to be $940 million, according to the New Hampshire Lottery, which would make it the fourth-largest Mega Millions jackpot on record and the sixth-largest lottery jackpot in history. The state expected the one-time cash payout, before taxes, to be more than $483 million after 23 consecutive drawings without a winner.

“The excitement and anticipation is here once again as the Mega Millions jackpot approaches $1 billion,” Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, said. “In Tuesday night’s drawing alone, our New Hampshire players won more than $175,000 in prizes! Time to tell all our players to get in on the Mega Millions action in time for Friday’s drawing so they can have a chance to win big!”
