CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a multi-vehicle accident in the parking lot of Market Basket Friday after witnesses reported three men fleeing from the crash scene. Police were sent to Storrs Street around 4:20 p.m. for a report of three-vehicle crash. After the accident, witnesses told dispatch that a "physical altercation" was occurring and later, that three men, in black, baggy clothing, fled one of the vehicles.
After they arrived, police realized that four vehicles were involved in the crash: A Hyundai Sonata, a Toyota Camry, a Hyundai Accent, and a Subaru Impreza. According to dispatch, the Accent was parked near the liquor commission building while the other vehicles were closer to the entrance of the parking lot, across from the Mennino Place Apartments.
Witnesses stated that the three men consisted of two short black men and a tall white man, according to scanner chatter. The man ran away from the parking lot toward South Main Street. One of the black men was in his 20s. The witness wondered if the vehicle was stolen since the men fled from the area.
