Merrimack County Democrats Host Unity Celebration

Activists from around the county, as well as candidates, will attend fundraising event in Concord on May 17.

CONCORD, NH - The Merrimack County Democrats will meet on Tuesday, May 17, to celebrate party unity.

The event is billed as the Spring Unity Fundraiser, with candidates, wine basket auction, raffles and good food. Tickets are $25 – $20 if you come with dessert. The event will be held at the state Democratic Party Headquarters at 106 North State St. in Concord

“The food is by our own Jennifer Buck,” said MCD president Jon Bresler, in praise of her catering talents. “We will auction a wine basket, and hold a raffle in what color hair state Rep. Katherine Rogers will be coiffed at the June 18 state convention."

The fun starts with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by short speeches at 5:45 p.m., and dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Among politicians or their surrogates who have agreed to speak or have been invited to address the Democrats, include Steve Shurtleff, candidate for House Speaker; former Speaker Terrie Norelli, the first Democratic woman Speaker of the New Hampshire General Court; gubernatorial candidates Colin Van Ostern, Mark Connolly and Steve Marchand; and Executive Council candidates Andru Volinsky, Shawn Mikelonis and John Shea.
