The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The single most pressing issue facing our district and state involves resisting the pressure to increase taxes and spending while adopting policies that have been disastrous in blue states like California, New York, and Massachusetts. I want to maintain the policies that made New Hampshire the best state in the union in which to live.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Other candidates seem to favor more spending and higher taxes as well as social, economic, and climate policies that have proven disastrous in blue states. I oppose New Hampshire becoming a sanctuary state in the Massachusetts mold.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform:
I support sustainable economic development, SENSIBLE environmental protection, accountable education practices, limited public sector spending, lower taxes, empowering families and encouraging an appreciation of our American heritage.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this position?
I've sponsored or co-sponsored numerous measures which have become law, including many bi-partisan bills to promote civics education, to support gifted and special needs students, and to help veterans in need.
The best advice ever shared with me was…
Be patient and keep the faith.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I support the traditional, mainstream conservative policies that have served New Hampshire well in positioning our state as the most livable state in the northeast. I've spent much of my life in the education world, having taught in public, parochial, and military schools, as well as on the community college and university levels. I was elected to a school board and served two terms on the House Education Committee, before being named as Chair for the House Committee on State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs. I am a retired reserve Marine Corps infantry officer who saw action in the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan. I am also an author and columnist.
