BOW, NH — Police in Bow as well as state officials are searching for a missing California man after his vehicle was found in a nature preserve in town.

Jesse Lane, 27, of Crestline, CA, was last heard from by his family on July 2. He was officially reported missing on Thursday. Bow police found his vehicle later in the Hammond Nature Preserve-Walker Forest area of town, off Branch Londonderry Turnpike West.

After finding his vehicle and realizing he was missing, police along with the New Hampshire State Police K-9 team began searching the conservation area for Lane but have had no luck finding him. It is unknown if he was camping in the forest or lost. State police had a helicopter searching the area Thursday night.

According to a be-on-the-lookout alert issued Thursday night to police departments across the state, Lane had no known ties to New Hampshire and was last known to be living out of his car. He was reported missing by police in San Bernadino, CA. Lane is 6 feet, 1 inch tall, around 190 pounds, with blond hair, and hazel eyes.

Around 11 a.m. Friday, Bow Police Chief Kenneth Miller reported on Facebook that officers were still looking for Lane in the area of the preserve and forest.

At around 1 p.m. police and fish and game officials were seen discussing the areas they had been searching for Lane. Fish and game are also using ATVs to search the preserve and forest.

Any information about Lane should be reported to the Bow police at 603-223-3950.
