More Than 11,000 Unitil Customers Without Power In Concord, Exeter

Blustery wind gusts have knocked down trees and branches around the capital region, Seacoast; major outages also reported in Bow, Seabrook.

CONCORD, NH — Around 11,000 Unitil customers in central New Hampshire and the Seacoast are without power.

Around noon, Unitil reported 11,139 of its customers, around 14 percent, without power. Nearly 5,000 customers in Exeter, about 60 percent of the town, is without power while 2,950 customers in Concord, about 14 percent, and more than 2,500 in Bow, around 80 percent, are out. About 300 customers are out in Seabrook and another 222 are out in Newton.

The company is still assessing response times at the time of publication.

In the capital region, smaller outages were reported in Hooksett, Hopkinton, and Salisbury, while on the Seacoast, more minor outages were reported in Danville, Kensington, Kingson, Plaistow, Sandown, South Hampton, and Stratham.

Blustery wind gusts, as high as 40 mph, have knocked down trees and branches, which have knocked down wires around the state. The wind is expected to continue throughout the day.
