UPDATE: About 14,000 Still Without Power in NH

Thunderstorms swept across the state on July 23; crews continue working to restore power; some customers will be out until Monday.

Two of the state’s largest utility companies are reporting major outages after a large swath of thunderstorms swept southeast across the Granite State on July 23, 2016, knocking out power to tens of thousands.

Hail the size of marbles and quarters and at least one possible microburst were being reported during Patch's first storm report, according to reports on social media. The state's emergency management operations partially began operations at 6 p.m. last night in order to assist with the outages.

At the height of the storm, as many as 72,000 customers in the Granite State were without power.
