More New Hampshire National Merit Scholarships Winners

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation issued more than 1,000 more winners who will receive scholarships for college.

CONCORD, NH — The National Merit Scholarship Corporation released the names of more merit award winners on Monday.

For 2021, 160 colleges and universities are sponsoring more than 4,100 merit scholarship awards. The awardees will receive between $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years for undergraduate study.

Bryce Hill of Conway who will attend Boston University has a probable career field of business. He is a graduate of Kennett High School in North Conway.

Ryan Sullivan of Derry, who attended Pinkerton Academy in Derry, is attending Vanderbilt University with a probable career field of mechanical engineering.

Erin Choi of Phillips Exeter Academy has a probable career field of academia at University of Chicago.

Coral Outwater, also of Phillips Exeter Academy, will be attending Carleton College with a probable career field of physics.

Thomas E. Hardenbergh of Hopkinton who attended Hopkinton High School in Contoocook will attend Boston University with a probable career field of education.

Philip Hogan of Amherst who attended Souhegan High School and is attending University of Texas in Dallas to study software engineering.

Srinivaas Chetlur and Young Bin Kim, both of Bedford High School, also won. Chetlur is studying medicine at University of Oklahoma and Kim will be at Northeastern studying computer science.

Kai Jimeno of Hollis Brookline High School will study finance at Fordham.

Emily Kang of Phillips Exeter High School will attend University of Chicago to study sociology.

Jake Scally of Greenland, who attended Portsmouth High School, is attending Florida State University and will be studying physics.

Willem Ellis of Lebanon High School is studying politics at American University.

Sarah Fun of Founders Academy Charter School in Manchester will be studying computer science at Tufts University.

David Sixon of Milford High School will be at Purdue with a probable career field of chemical engineering.

Other winners from around New Hampshire winning $2,500 scholarships include:

Miriam Viazmenski of Etna, who attended Hanover High School, who will be studying medical research.

James Eiler of Hanover High School who will be studying academia.

Luke Young-Xu of North Haverhill who attended St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont will be studying biology.

Yifan Zhu of Sandown, who attended the Derryfield School in Manchester, will be studying computer science.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is a not-for-profit founded in 1955. The scholarships are underwritten by 400 independent corporate and college sponsors.
