More Rain, Warm Temperatures, And Rivers Rising In New Hampshire

Rising rivers and thinning ice could cause ice jams and flooding in some areas of the Granite State after rain moves into the region.

CONCORD, NH — Mud season is not quite here yet in the Granite State, but rain on Sunday and Monday might hasten its arrival.

There may also be water issues around rivers and flooding.

On Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service issued a “hazardous weather outlook” warning of rising rivers and thinning ice that could cause problems. The rain “combining with snowmelt (could) raise rivers and break up thinning river ice,” forecasters said.
