More Teens Facing Alcohol Charges

Concord Police level charges against teens at two different locations last month.

Concord Police were called to two incidents in late May involving alleged underage drinking and alcohol charges.

On May 18, officers were called to an underage drinking party Thackeray Road, at a little before 10 p.m. The officers reportedly found a number of vehicles parked outside the home.

One of the vehicles, a Chevrolet SUV, with North Carolina plates, was parked in the driveway. The officers spoke to four young men in the vehicle, asked them to get out of the vehicle, and they reportedly obliged.

While police were talking to the men, the homeowner reportedly came out of the house. The officer noted the he was, “loud and obviously intoxicated.”

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Robert C. Hansen, 19, of Concord, reportedly denied drinking at the party and showed no signs of impairment, according to the report. However, a Bud Light beer was allegedly found in the car, along with a 30-pack in the back, covered by a towel.

Hansen allegedly said he didn’t know the beer was in the car. He was later arrested and charged with transportation of alcoholic beverages by a minor and unlawful possession of alcohol. He was later released on $1,000 personal recognizance and is due in court on June 24.

Two passengers in the car, Patrick M. Cannon, 19, of Concord, and Christopher Wallace of Columbia, S.C., received summonses for unlawful possession of alcohol.

About five hours later, around 3 a.m. on May 19, officers were called to Old Suncook Road for a report of a party behind the building where teens were reportedly drinking and smoking pot.

The officers approached the area and heard several voices talking loudly, according to the report, and met with a number of subjects, all under 21.

One James Ozborne, 17, was taken into custody by police, according to the report. Another, who was 16, was arrested (his name was not released).

Four others all reportedly agreed to field sobriety tests and were issued summonses for unlawful possession of alcohol. They were Gemma Edwards, 19, of Concord, Brienna M. Proulx, 19, Keith H. Yeng-Jesus, and Christine Truong, 19, of Concord.

They are all due in court on July 1.
