Motorcycle And Car Crash On Clinton Street In Concord Leads To Trauma Alert: Watch

A motorcyclist and a passenger were sent to Concord Hospital on Saturday with major injuries after a crash near Birchdale Road.

CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams and police were sent to Clinton Street on Saturday for an accident involving a motorcycle and a car.

The crash was reported around 3 p.m., just past the street's intersection with Birchdale Road. A witness told police dispatch there was a group of motorcycles that were “operating recklessly” and were “passing vehicles in the double yellow line and hit a car head-on.” Fire dispatch said the crash might involve more than one motorcycle and sent a second ambulance.

The first arriving EMTs and police officers shut down the street. Police requested a third officer to assist. The road was closed at the Hooksett Turnpike on the east side of the crash.

Fire command confirmed the crash involved a single motorcycle. Police identified the car as a Hyundai Elantra and the motorcycle as a Harley-Davidson. The motorcycle was with other motorcyclists at the time of the crash, but only one was involved in the accident.

They did confirm, however, that they would need two ambulances since there were two patients, according to dispatch.

The motorcycle driver, a man in his 40s, was wearing a helmet, police said. The woman was in her mid-30s.

A few minutes later, command told dispatch to have the trauma alert activated at Concord Hospital. The driver and the passenger of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries, with a man reportedly fading in and out of consciousness, according to the commander. Another unit was also requested to head to the hospital to meet up with the crash victims.

“Right now,” one officer said from the scene, “they are still with us.”

A sergeant also headed to the scene, and the evidence technician unit was requested to the crash scene. Bow police were also requested to assist to close traffic off from the west side of the crash.
