Motorcyclist Was Driving ‘In A Reckless Manner’ Before Loudon Road Crash
The biker was seriously injured last night after reportedly racing with a car near the Steeplegate Mall, according to a sheriff's deputy.
CONCORD, NH — A motorcyclist involved in a crash last night on Loudon Road was reportedly racing with another vehicle in the westbound lane before the crash, according to police. A deputy from the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Department, while on routine patrol near the Steeplegate Mall, saw two vehicles racing and attempted to pull the cyclist over, Lt. Sean Ford, the commander of the criminal investigations unit for the Concord Police Department, said in a press statement. The deputy terminated the attempt as the motorcyclist – who was driving a Yamaha – allegedly raced from the scene.
“Witness statements and evidence corroborate this information,” Ford noted. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Concord NH Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
Moments later, the motorcyclist plowed into the back of a Hyunaid Sonata as the sedan was turning from the eastbound lane into the McDonald’s Restaurant parking lot, according to Ford.
