Update: Unitil Restores Power To Nearly 2,000 Concord Customers

Update: Parts of the West End, North End, and West Concord were without power early this morning. Here's why.

CONCORD, NH — Due to an outage, nearly 2,000 Unitil electric customers were without power on Wednesday.

But Unitil, the city's power company, was able to get power restored pretty quickly.

The outage occurred between 5:45 and 6 a.m. and is mostly centered in the West End, North End, and West Concord. On its outage map, Unitil initially stated power would be restored by 10:30 a.m.

Around 6:45 a.m., the company stated on Twitter it was "patrolling the area to determine the cause." Around 7 a.m., the company reported a bird had made "contact on equipment." Power was restored later.

The outage represented about 2.5 percent of the company’s customers in New Hampshire.
