New Hampshire Department Of Safety: Prepare For Emergencies In Schools

Watch: State officials request educators and administrators make sure students know emergency operations as kids head back to school.

CONCORD, NH — As children head back to school, state officials are working to make sure administrators and educators have measures in place to ensure students are safe.

The New Hampshire Department of Safety and Department of Education released a new video to school districts requesting officials focus on school emergency plans. Officials also shared several resource sites with officials.

The sites include the New Hampshire School Safety Resource Center, which offers task force recommendations, mental health, events, and other links; School Physical Security Assessments, a readiness program for schools to have a second set of eyes on their grounds and buildings; Training and Exercises opportunities, including a five-phase preparedness cycle; and Ready, the Prepared Puppy, a program that teaches kindergartners to fourth-graders what they need to know to stay safe.
