New Hampshire Forum Brings Citizen Delegates To Concord For Housing Talks

CONCORD, NH — A statewide Civic Assembly focused on housing affordability and homeownership is set for this weekend at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, where more than two dozen randomly selected Granite Staters will meet with policy experts and elected leaders.

The New Hampshire Forum is organizing the event and described the 50 delegates as demographically representative. The three-day gathering will give participants a chance to examine evidence, weigh policy options, and deliberate across political and demographic perspectives before developing recommendations for state leaders.

The assembly will focus on “Housing Affordability and Ownership.”

Delegates are expected to review three core sub-themes tied to housing dynamics across the state, with experts and practitioners helping participants understand data, policy options, and tradeoffs.

At the end of the assembly, delegates will vote on proposed policy recommendations. Recommendations that receive supermajority support will be presented to state policymakers ahead of the 2027 legislative session, according to the org.

The New Hampshire Forum said participating subject-matter experts are Phil Sletten, research director at the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute; Rob Dapice, executive director and CEO of the New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority; Brody Deshaies, legislative advocate for the New Hampshire Municipal Association; Marty Karlon, policy and research analyst for the New Hampshire Municipal Association; Josh Greenwald of Greenwald Realty Associates; Sara Holland, regional managing broker at Coldwell Realty and owner of Sara Holland & Company; Matt Mayberry, CEO of the New Hampshire Home Builders Association; and Nick Taylor, director of Housing Action New Hampshire.

Members of The New Hampshire Forum’s Legislative Advisory Team are also expected to attend. State Sens. Tim Lang, a Republican, and Tara Reardon, a Democrat, will address delegates during the gathering.

The New Hampshire Forum described itself as “a cross-partisan, citizen-led initiative dedicated to giving Granite Staters a voice in the legislative process.” The group also said, “We believe that when citizens are given the space to collaborate, they can find common ground and turn shared community priorities into practical legislative action.”
