New Hampshire Jail Escapee Arrested In New York: Update
Peter John Dibiaso was found on Wednesday in Corning, New York; he was accused of stealing a vehicle in Laconia and fleeing NH Monday night.

CONCORD, NH — An accused armed career criminal who escaped from the Belknap County Jail on Monday has been captured.
Peter John Dibiaso, 57, was being held in jail on a pre-trial status after being charged with armed career criminal, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, stalking, and operating a motor vehicle without a license at the time of the jailbreak on Monday night. He broke through an unalarmed door and scaled a 10-foot fence, Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal, said. Dibiaso then stole a vehicle in Laconia and fled the state, he said.
Dibiaso was found inside the stolen vehicle in Corning, New York, around noon on Wednesday and arrested by police in that community without incident. He faces fugitive from justice charge and an escape warrant.

White said he could face more charges in New York, including for the stolen vehicle. He added that the investigation of the escape incident was ongoing, with police attempting to determine if Dibiaso acted alone or received assistance before or after the jailbreak.
“I am proud of everyone who worked tirelessly on this case, from Belknap County, the U.S. Marshals, and all of our local partners both here in NH and NY that made this quick arrest possible,” U.S. Marshal Nick Willard said. “Getting someone as dangerous as Mr. Dibiaso back into custody was our highest priority.”
