CONCORD, NH — One lucky Powerball player in New Hampshire is $1 million richer after winning on Saturday.

At the same time, the jackpot, which has not been won since mid-July, has crossed the half-billion dollar level.

After purchasing tickets at the T-Bird Mart on West Street in Keene, the player matched five numbers but not the power ball. What are the odds of this occurring? One in 11.69 million.

“We could not be more thrilled for our New Hampshire Lottery players as this jackpot keeps growing bigger and better, and for the lucky player who won $1 million over the weekend,” Charlie McIntyre, the lottery executive director, said. “Excitement is in the air as our players continue to win big and we expect ticket sales approaching Wednesday night’s drawing to skyrocket with the growing jackpot. Our fingers are crossed for even more Granite State winners — and remember, it only takes one to win.”

The last time Powerball was won was a California player who won the $1 billion jackpot. The one-time payout, before taxes, if anyone wins on Saturday, will be around $266 million.
