New Hampshire Motor Speedway GM Arrested for Lewdness
Jerry Gappens of Bedford arrested in Manchester after allegedly picking up a teenager.

The general manager of the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon was arrested last week on a lewdness charge in Manchester.
Jerry Gappens, 53, of Bedford, and Kendra Johnson, 19, of Manchester, were both arrested for lewdness on Jan. 21, 2015.
According to Lt. Brian O’Keefe of the Manchester Police Department, at around 5:45 p.m., the Manchester Police Crime Unit was monitoring “illicit activities” around Lincoln and Manchester streets.

A detective and sergeant allegedly saw a Toyota Sequoia SUV in the area and “watched as a female subject entered the SUV through the passenger door,” according to a report.
The detective followed the vehicle toward Hanover Street and “eventually watched the vehicle pull into a parking lot where they allegedly observed an act of lewdness take place in the vehicle.”

Gappens is due in court on Feb. 25; Johnson on Feb. 26.
According to the speedway’s website, Gappens has been working in the NASCAR business for about 15 years.
