New Hampshire State Police DWI Saturation Patrols Begin Again
State troopers will be out in force looking for drunken drivers in the capital region during the weekend beginning July 3.
CONCORD, NH — It is that time of year again: the New Hampshire State Police will begin DWI Saturation Patrols in the state, specifically, in the "Greater Concord area," during the weekend of July 3.
Col. Nathan Noyes, the director of the state police, and Lt. Chad Lavoie of Troop D, announced the saturation patrol Tuesday.
Unlike sobriety checkpoints that stop numerous vehicles in a single location, saturation patrols send troopers on surveillance on numerous roadways in a confined area.

Lavoie said the program was approved by the New Hampshire Highway Safety Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration which provides federal highway safety funds to support the patrols.
"The New Hampshire State Police has taken an aggressive stance to prevent persons from driving when impaired," Lavoie said. "New Hampshire has some of the most aggressive laws in the country to fight impaired driving and the law enforcement community will use those tools to their fullest extent."
