CONCORD, NH — Walmarts across New Hampshire and the United States have received bomb threats during the past 24 hours.

The New Hampshire Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management said it had received “multiple calls” about the threats and officials were “monitoring” them.
“Multiple state agencies are assisting local law enforcement agencies that are responding to those calls and with the investigation into those calls,” Vanessa Palange, the community outreach coordinator for the department, said. “The New Hampshire Information and Analysis Center is assisting by sharing information between local, state, and federal agencies.”

The department said Walmart stores “across the country” reported “receiving hoax threats.” At this time, while the New Hampshire threats were being taken seriously, they appeared to be hoaxes like the ones seen nationally.
“Everyone is encouraged to report any suspicious activity to their local law enforcement agency or 9-1-,” she added.
Concord police were called to the store Wednesday morning and set up a perimeter around the store. A New Hampshire State Police K-9 unit was requested.
At around 9:15 a.m., the state trooper with the K-9 gave the all-clear.
Concord police began accompanying employees back into the store. One officer told dispatch that they would be doing another store sweep with employees to see if anything was out of the ordinary.
At 9:30 a.m. in Concord, employees and shoppers were allowed back in the store.
Bomb threats were reported yesterday in Claremont and a mall in Berlin, Vermont. Stores in the Detroit suburbs were also targeted, according to reports online. A North Texas Walmart was also evacuated on Monday.
