Hundreds Of New Hampshire Wrestlers Participate In 19 Meets In NH, Mass., NY, PA, And RI
Concord advances to 11-1; 20 schools battle at Winnisquam Winter Classic; Bedford wins 2; Souhegan wins 3 at Quad; Salem falls to Coventry.
CONCORD, NH — Hundreds of wrestlers participated in more than a dozen meets in five states Saturday, including Concord’s Super Quad 2, the Winnisquam Winter Classic, Souhegan Quad Dual, Exeter Tri NH, the Hoosick Falls Dual Meet in NY, the Essex Classic in Vermont, a meet in Pennsylvania, and quads in Bow, Hollis, and Coventry, Rhode Island.
Winnisquam Winter Classic
Wrestlers from 20 schools competed in the Lakes Region classic tournament, with Spaulding High School as the winner and Winnisquam placing second. Middlebury Union came in third, Timberlane placed fourth, and Concord was fifth. Salem placed seventh, Manchester West came in 15th, and Hopkinton came in 18th.
In the 106 category, John Blocksidge of Salem came in sixth. In the 113, Lucas Sanchez came in first and Brendan Giordano came in fifth for Salem. Nicholas Roberts of Concord came in fourth in the 120. In the 132, Owen Gregg of Concord came in sixth. Sawyer McCready of Concord came in second, while Nolan Linstad of Hopkinton came in fifth in the 138. In the 150, Henry Osmer of Winnisquam came in first, while Jeremy Richard of Concord placed fourth. In the 157, Jhystoni Rivera of Manchester West came in fifth. Tomas Acosta, also of Manchester West, was fifth in the 165 weight category. Charlie Sarette of Concord came in third in the 175, while Micah Howard of Salem placed fifth. In the 285, Jacob Breau of Concord placed fourth.

In the Women’s Division, the Raymond Rams emerged victorious with 27 points.

Concord Now 11-1
Concord’s Crimson Tide varsity wrestlers won three at Super Quad, beating Alvirne High School of Hudson, ConVal Regional of Peterborough, and Portsmouth-Dover, advancing to 11-1.
Against Alvirne, Concord won all but three matches, including four forfeits. Cullen Burke, Hunter Richard, Isiah Puckett, and Wayne Gutierrez Sakakeeny all won by fall. Griffin Norwalt, Jaxon Carer, and Jeydon Wilson won by decisions. Logan Jacques of Alvirne and Shayne Mackey each won by fall, while Shawn Boudreau won by a decision.
The Crimson Tide won all but one match against the Cougars. Collin Mao won in the 113 weight category by decision. Four Concord wrestlers won by default. Biswas Darji, Burke, Norwalt, Richard, Levi Madison, Carter, Wilson, Carl Sirrianna, and Sakakeeny all won by falls.
The Tide also beat the Clippers fairly handily, losing only two matches. Carter Kuhn in the 113 won by a fall, and Elijah Josey in the 190 won by a decision. Burke, Richard, Madison, Carter, Ryley Holt, Wilson, Sirrianna, and Sakakeeny won by falls, while Norwalt, Maximus Chung, and Farwell won by decisions. Concord only had one forfeit.

Other Meets
In Rhode Island, Coventry beat Salem in a tight meet, 41 to 36.
Dominic Murphy, Evan Lynch, Reilly O’Brien, Kevin Todisco, and Daniel Hughes all won by falls. The Blue Devils had a single forfeit win.

Souhegan held its Quad Dual with Merrimack, Milford, and Nashua North, the Amherst-Mont Vernon district beating all three teams.
Against Merrimack, the Sabers dominated, with Isabelle Brandt winning twice by fall while Madelyn Brown, Benjamin Smiley, Landon Carson, Darwin Brown-Waters, Micah Dibble, Alexander Gray, Allan Bobiak, Austin Silk, Owen Foley, Noah Daily, and Liam Fisher each won by fall. Logan Brown, Chase Knuckle, and Noah Dennis also won by decisions. For the Tomahawks, Luke Emond won two matches by fall, while Brendan Curley and Landon Shultz each won once. Merrimack had a single forfeit win, while each school had two double forfeits.
The score between the Sabers and the Spartans was much tighter, with Souhegan beating Milford, 43-31.
Knuckles, Smiley, Carson, Denis, and Sam Albert all won by fall, while Knuckles and Brown-Waters also won by decision. Elijah Wales won by fall for Milford, while Kiernan Lordan and Kyle Lajoie each won by decision. Milford had three wins by forfeit, while Souhegan had one.
Nashua North had two forfeit wins and a double forfeit, too, but Souhegan won, 52-15.
For Souhegan, Micah Dibble, Alexander Gray, Madelyn Brown, Carson, Logan Brown, Knuckles, Denis, Albert, and Bobiak all won by falls. Knuckle also won by decision. Caleb Smith won in the 120-weight category by decision for Nashua North.
Bedford, Goffstown, Londonderry, and Hollis Brookline all competed in the Hollis Brookline Quad.
Bedford beat HB, 47-36, and Londonderry, 52-29.
In the HB match, Alex Jennings, Nathan Pass, Kiaben Kennedy, Seth Hastey, Sam Cowette, Tucker Watson, and Gavin McConnell all won by falls for the Bulldogs.
Goffstown beat Londonderry, 54-21, and HB also beat Londonderry, 54-27.
Dylan Nadeau, Janthony Delacruz, and Connor Anderson each won by fall for the Lancers against Goffstown while Manny Perez and David Pento won by decision.
In the Lancers’ match against the Cavaliers, Brendan Egan, Finn Millis, Pento, Lucas DeLeon, and Patrick O’Connor all won by falls. Perez also won a match by decision.
The Bedford vs. Goffstown score was not available at post time.
Bow, Bishop Guertin, Manchester Central, Manchester Memorial, and Trinity all faced off at a quad in Bow.
Guertin bested Central, 48-0, and beat Memorial, 36-16, while Bow beat Guertin, 43-32.
Scores were not available for the Exeter Tri NH meet featuring Winnacunnet Regional of Hampton.
Wrestlers from Pelham, John Stark Regional, Campbell of Litchfield, and other schools from Maine, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island participated in the Daniel Gionet Memorial Tournament at Pelham High School.
Sanford Maine came in first while Pelham placed second, Tyngsborough-Dracut came in third, and John Stark placed fourth.

Timberlane Regional traveled to Pennsylvania and came away with two wins and two losses.
The Grizzlies beat Wissahickon and Northeast high schools but lost to Boyertown Area and Downington West.

Manchester Memorial also sent wrestlers to the Hoosick Falls Dual Meet Tournament to face off against several New York schools.
Scores for those matches were not available at post time.
Plymouth Regional also sent wrestlers to the Essex Classic in Vermont.
