Concord City Auditorium lobby to offer free concerts on Sundays in March.

A new music series will showcasing some of New Hampshire young, talented musicians.

Merrimack Music begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, at the Concord City Auditorium, and will run on each Sunday during the month.

The musical performances will feature a salon setting with seating for up to 100, on a first come, first serve basis. There are no tickets and the concerts are free. Donations, however, will be accepted "to support development of Merrimack Music programs," according to the Concord Community Concert Association, one of the sponsors of the concerts. The Merrimack County Savings Bank Foundation is also a sponsor of the program.

The concerts are being put together in an effort to increase the audiences for these musicians, promote the association's outreach, and expand student outreach efforts of the organization, which was founded in 1930.

Eric Reingold, a board member of the association, said that "being a performer and part of the area's musical community myself, I see this as a unique shot at more expanded musical opportunities for all the artists in the area. We issued a call for musicians' proposals and the enthusiastic response has enabled us to develop a schedule providing four exciting performances for the first season of Merrimack Music."
