New Vendors Start Selling Pay-As-You-Throw Trash Bags

Concord General Services has been working to expand vendors for trash bags.

Since the initiation of pay-as-you-throw (PAYT) trash bags in 2009, Concord General Services has been working to expand vendors in hopes of providing various locations to be in close proximity of Concord residents.
Rite Aid on 92 South St. became a new PAYT trash bag vendor in April and now two additional Rite Aid locations have picked up the bags for further distribution. Rite Aid on 24 Fort Eddy Road and Rite Aid on 165 N. State St. are both now two new vendor locations to start carrying purple PAYT trash bags.
Adam Clark, the solid waste manager for Concord General Services, stated, “the feedback from residents on these new locations has been overwhelmingly positive. We don’t want people to have to drive out of their way to get trash bags; we want it to be an easy effort.”
Concord General Services will continue to work with retailers to add pay-as-you-throw trash bags to the shelves.
