This nation-wide premiere screening series not only gives you “first look” at some of the best new independent films, but also presents up close and personal discussions with major movie stars, producers, writers and directors.

Each New York Film Critics Series screening is features Q&A’s with filmmakers and actors recorded before a live audience in New York City and moderated by the film critic Peter Travers (Rolling Stone, ABC, Newsweek). Events will take place once a month on a weeknight, days vary each month based on film and talent availability.

Past Series highlights have included such prestigious films as Beasts of the Southern Wild, Silver Linings Playbook, Up in the Air, Black Swan, and appearances by guests Woody Harrelson, Frank Langella, Edward Norton, Paul Giammati, Ellen Page, Alan Arkin, and John Turturro.

Red River Theatres, one of the leading independent movie theaters in the U.S, has partnered with The New York Film Critics Series® (NYFCS®), to present live, national, in-theater screenings.. The events are moderated by Peter Travers, film critic for Rolling Stone Magazine, and ABC’s Popcorn along with additional coverage by Alison Bailes of More Magazine, WOR Radio, and The Charlie Rose Show. The Series presents interactive, in-theater; pre-release movies and big screen HD simulcast with the stars and filmmakers.

MARCH  FILM: BREATHE IN - When a foreign exchange student arrives in a small upstate New York town, she challenges the dynamics of her host family’s relationships and alters their lives forever.
