The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that two Corrections Officers assigned to the New Hampshire State Prison for Men in Concord received medals for extraordinary achievements. Corrections Officers Michael Bushway and Mark Kimball were awarded the Department’s Life Saving medal for their roles in averting an inmate suicide attempt on September 10, 2013. The medals were presented by Warden Richard M. Gerry.
The Life Saving medal is awarded to Corrections staff for an act performed in the line of duty, which, through disregard of their own personal safety and with prompt and alert action, demonstrates exceptional effort toward the preservation of life and service to the public.
