New Hampshire Corrections Searching For Sexual Assaulter Wanted On A Probation Violation

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is searching for a convicted sexual assaulter with a lot of other convictions who is wanted on a probation violation and was indicted last week on another sex offender registration charge.

Cornelius Ransom Sanborn is white, 50, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and weighs around 165 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown and gray hair. Officials said Sanborn had a scar on his right wrist and sometimes used the alias “Cornellos.” Sanborn “was last known to be homeless and is known to frequent homeless resource centers for daily food and shelter but has not been seen recently,” according to corrections investigators. His last address on his latest indictment was Belmont, an alert stated.

“His current whereabouts are unknown, and he has failed to report,” officials said.

According to the state of New Hampshire sex offender registry, Sanborn was convicted of felonious sexual assault on a victim 13 or older and under 16 with an age difference of more than three years in May 1992.

Other convictions include disorderly conduct in May 1995 and misdemeanor drug possession charges in September 1998, July 2004, and June 2005. He was also convicted on a receiving stolen property charge in September 2009. Sanborn was convicted of felony failure to register as a sex offender in June 2007, felony change name, alias, address-duty to inform in May 2017, felony sex offender registration; failure to comply-knowing-subsequent, and felony possession of a controlled drug charges in July.

According to superior court records, Sanborn was indicted on a sex offender registration; failure to comply-knowing-subsequent charge from September out of Laconia last week. He is due in Belknap County Superior Court for arraignment on Dec. 13 and has a dispositional conference hearing booked for Feb. 2, 2024.
