According to Concord Fire Chief Dan Andrus stated in a press release that three engines a tower ladder, three ambulances and a battalion chief responded to the scene after receiving "multiple phone calls from passers-by and New Hampshire State Police units reported fire in the southernmost building in the complex."

An additional engine was requested from Bow and crews made "an aggressive attack inside the building," he noted.

Fire officials credited early detection, a quick response, and aggressive fire suppression efforts for limiting damage even though the fire heavily damaged the building. As fire crews checked for hot spots, investigators from Concord and the State Fire Marshal’s Office were beginning to search for the cause of the fire.

Crews from Boscawen, Pembroke, Bow, Allenstown, and the Penacook Rescue covered Concord’s stations during the incident, according to Andrus.

The immediate area, in and around the grounds, is often frequented by homeless people who are set fires on the site to keep warm, and are caught and arrested for drinking and trespassing.

Andrus noted there were no injuries.
