NH Fugitive Jon Benedict Caught

U.S. Marshals reportedly find him in Hooksett after receiving tips.

U.S. Marshals have caught the latest Fugitive of the Week, according to a press release, after they received several tips that he might be in Hooksett.

Deputy Jeffrey White stated that after the Benedict release was posted by media outlets, marshals received “several tips” which eventually led investigators to an apartment building on Route 3A in Hooksett.

“While conducting interviews at this apartment building, Benedict arrived in a car with a friend,” according to White. “Members of the fugitive task force quickly apprehended Benedict without incident, while he was seated in this car.”

Benedict was transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections where he was held without bail pending arraignment. He was originally wanted for outstanding warrants for probation violations from a previous burglary conviction. Benedict also had a suspended two to four year sentence out of Belknap County for being a felon in a possession of a firearm.

“The Belknap County attorney has filed a motion to impose this suspended sentence as a result of Benedict’s violations,” White stated.
