NH Fugitive of the Week Arrested in Maine
Maine State Police announce capture of Sasha Rand, 33, after she was found hiding in a closet in West Baldwin.

CONCORD, NH - A 33-year-old New Hampshire woman whom U.S. Marshals recently named Fugitive of the Week was arrested Wednesday in West Baldwin, Maine.
Maine State Police announced today that the US Marshals – NH Joint Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from Maine State Police Troops A and B, found Sasha Rand hiding in a closet of a Chase Road home and arrested her without incident. Rand was wanted for violating bail a charge of conspiracy with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled drug. She had been released on bail after a December court hearing.
Also arrested was Ashley Cameron, 36, who was wanted by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for probation violations after a drug conviction. Maine State Police said she was also found hiding in a closest at the same Chase Road location.

Rand was featured as Fugitive of the Week on Feb. 13 in several media outlets, including Patch. The New Hampshire Fugitive Task Force said Rand had ties to Manchester and was last known to be living in the Strafford County area.
“This arrest is another example of the outstanding interstate cooperation between law enforcement agencies to capture fugitives,” US Marshal Nick Willard said in a statement.

Maine State Police said Rand was being held at the Strafford County Jail ahead of her court appearance in Concord, while Cameron was transferred to the Maine State Police, where she could be charged as a fugitive from justice based on her outstanding warrant.
