NH Inmate Escaped From Manchester Facility: Police

Darien Young​ walked off the grounds of the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit and failed to return early Friday morning, officials said.

Young, 29, is a white man who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 165 pounds, according to officials. He was last seen wearing a military green backpack, greyish-blue hoodie, black hat, sunglasses, blue jeans, and dark boots.

MANCHESTER, NH —A minimum-security resident of the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester escaped from the facility early Friday morning, the New Hampshire Department of Corrections announced in a news release.

Darien Young, 29, walked off the grounds and failed to return, causing him to be marked as escaped at 2 a.m. Friday, officials said.

Young is a white man who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 165 pounds, according to officials. He was last seen wearing a military green backpack, greyish-blue hoodie, black hat, sunglasses, blue jeans, and dark boots.

According to officials, Young is incarcerated after being convicted of two counts of receiving stolen property, controlled drug acts prohibited, burglary, and falsifying physical evidence.

Young's earliest eligibility for parole is July 31 and his current latest possible release date is January 31, 2028, officials said.
