NH Officials Ask Public to Help Find Woman Missing for 35 Years

New evidence leads police to name Denise Beaudin, 23, last seen in 1981 in Goffstown, a missing person; info about boyfriend also requested.

CONCORD, NH — The Manchester Police Department, New Hampshire State Police, and the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman who has been missing for more than 35 years after “new evidence” led investigators to officially deem her a missing person. Denise Beaudin was last seen on Nov. 26, 1981, when she, her infant daughter, and boyfriend went to have dinner with her family in Goffstown.

At the time, she was 23, and had a live-in boyfriend – Robert “Bob” Evans, 37 at the time, now 72 – but neither mentioned anything at dinner about leaving the area. The daughter was an infant at the time.

Less than a week later, according to investigators, Beaudin’s family went to her home on Hayward Street in Manchester to visit her and found that no one was home. At the time, according to the family, Beaudin and Evans were having financial difficulties, so they assumed the couple left to avoid those issues. Beaudin has not been seen or heard from since.

Beaudin’s daughter, now an adult, is not missing, according to officials.

“New information has been obtained regarding Denise’s disappearance,” Jeffery A. Strelzin, Senior Assistant Attorney General, Chief, Homicide Unit, for the NH AG’s Office. “Based on that information, a missing person report has been generated and Denise has been placed into NCIC (National Crime Information Center), as a missing person.”

Beaudin is white, was about 5 feet, 4 inches to six inches tall at the time, and weighed around 120 to 140 lbs. She had brown hair, brown eyes, and a noticeable overbite, according to investigators.

Evans is also white and was described, at the time, as white, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, to around 6 feet 1 inch tall with a thin build – about 170 lbs. – with brown hair and brown eyes.

Beaudin graduated from Goffstown High School in 1976 and worked at General Cable on McGregor Street and the Demers Nursing Home on Hackett Hill Road, both in Manchester. The attached photo of her is from her yearbook. Evans’ photo with the full beard is circa 1985, according to police, about four years after Beaudin was last seen. The other two pictures of Evans are digitally edited to depict him without a beard of a partial beard.
