NH River Resource Public Hearings Held Later this Month

Draft Report of the Instream Flow Pilot Program by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services start Sept. 22.

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) has issued the Draft Report of the Instream Flow Pilot Program for public review and comment.

The report is an evaluation of the Instream Flow Pilot Program and a plan for sustainable water resource management on other Designated Rivers, according to a press statement. The Instream Flow Pilot Program developed methods to define instream flow protection criteria that meet water quality standards and management plans to implement them. Three public hearings will be held sponsored jointly by NHDES, the NH Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and the NH House Resources, Recreation and Development Committee.

The public comment period will be open through Oct. 25, 2015.

The report is available at des.nh.gov/organization/divisions/water/wmb/rivers/instream/report.htm. Paper copies are available at the Wadleigh Memorial Library in Milford and the Durham Public Library.
