NH Small Business Webinar Focuses On Thriving During Pandemic
The BIA, New Hampshire's statewide chamber of commerce, hosts free, online panels discussing taxes, legislation, financing on Friday.
CONCORD, NH — The headlines have been clear, both regionally and nationally — small businesses are getting rocked during the coronavirus pandemic while larger businesses are thriving.
This is one of the reasons why the Business and Industry Association, New Hampshire’s statewide chamber of commerce, is hosting a free, online Small Business Day webinar, featuring a host of speakers on Friday, so both members and nonmembers can navigate the COVID-19 landscape.
The annual event, which will be held remotely for 2021, will have panels, running for half the day, focusing on financing options for small businesses, an overview of tax implications connected to stimulus packages, legal liabilities and other coronavirus concerns, and legislation that may involve employees.

Jim Roche, the president of the BIA, said the Small Business Day event "will provide small business owners and managers from across the state relevant information to help them recover from the pandemic and grow their businesses."

The legislative panel will feature Senate President Chuck Morse (R-Salem), Speaker of the House Sherman Packard (R-Londonderry), Senate Democratic Leader Donna Soucy (D-Manchester), and House Democratic Leader Renny Cushing (D-Hampton), he noted. During the financing session, there will be bankers and small business administration officials offering info about both traditional and alternative financing options while three CPAs will discuss taxes and stimulus programs — something the state is trying to fix, too, with the Paycheck Protection Program. A number of attorneys will also be on a panel to assist businesses with liability information, paid family and sick leave proposals, and other issues.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon on Feb. 12.
