NH State Council For The Arts Issues 15 CARES Act Grants
Artists from the capital region, Hampton, Manchester, and other communities will receive between $1,000 and $6,000 for community programs.
CONCORD, NH — Fifteen artists in New Hampshire will receive small, one-time grants from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act funds, administered by the National Endowment for the Arts.
The grants will provide funding to promote local initiatives including supporting a weekly singing workshop for seniors, a community canvas mural program, multi-generational social dances, the creation of a sculpture for the Abenaki Trails project, and more, according to Shelly Angers of the natural and cultural resources department.
Angers said the program, which will issue grants of $1,000 to $6,000, was specifically designed to support long-term employment opportunities for artists impacted by the coronavirus pandemic while fostering healthy communities.
