NH State Police Arrest 105 During Labor Day Weekend

More than 4,700 motor vehicle stops also made along with 34 DWI arrests.

State Police Director Colonel Robert Quinn announces the enforcement efforts of State Troopers during the C.A.R.E Life Saver Weekend-Labor Day Holiday Traffic Enforcement Effort. The State Police is pleased to announce that there were no fatal motor vehicle crashes during this period.

Beginning Friday, Aug. 29, through Sept. 1, State Troopers maintained a highly visible presence throughout the state to assure safe holiday travel making a total of 4,751 motor vehicle stops, which included 1,092 citations for speeding and 3,004 warnings. There were also 87 citations issued for hazardous violations and 83 for Driving after Suspension. Additionaly, 105 other criminal arrests were made during this time period.

Highly trained State Troopers were also assigned throughout the state to detect and apprehend impaired drivers. As a result of their enforcement efforts there were a total of 34 DUI arrests made.

Several erratic and impaired operators were identified and aprehended as a result of phone calls by responsible citizens reporting their unsafe and erratic operation. The men and women of the State Police appreciate the public’s assistance in removing impaired drivers from our roadways.

The New Hampshire State Police are committed to ensuring safe travel throughout the state and will continue our efforts to reduce collisions during the upcoming fall season.
