NH State Police Find Missing Man

On Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at around 9:26 pm the NH State Police Troop F received a call from a motorist reporting another vehicle that had gone by him having problems staying in its lane. The caller stated the vehicle had almost hit a tractor-trailer on the road.  The caller stated the incident occurred on Route 25 near the Warren/Wentworth town-line.

At around 9:27, Trooper Jonathan Minnich was able to locate and stop the vehicle on Route 25 in the town of Warren. After stopping the vehicle it was quickly apparent to the Trooper that there was possibly a medical issue with the driver.  The driver: Joseph Ford, 80, of the Bronx, NY, told Trooper Minnich that he was headed to South Carolina after leaving New York. Because of the information given by the driver and his current location, Trooper Minnich contacted Troop F to run a license check on Mr. Ford.   A check of his license, showed Mr. Ford to have been reported as a missing person with a disability.

The missing persons report was from the Bronx NY through the NY Police Department (NYPD) 46th Precinct. Troop F immediately contacted NYPD as well as Mr. Ford’s family. Mr. Ford was then taken to Speare Memorial hospital in the town of Plymouth to be medically evaluated. Mr. Ford’s family told the State Police they would be leaving for NH immediately to come get Mr. Ford.
