NH Teen Killed After Collision with Box Truck

NHSP: Shannon Nadeau, 18, was driving a Dodge Neon on Route 25 when it collided with a truck being driven by a man from Connecticut.

RUMNEY, NH - A New Hampshire teenager succumbed to fatal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident today in Rumney, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Shannon Nadeau, 18, was driving a 2002 Dodge Neon on School Street when her vehicle came to a stop at the intersection with Route 25 at around 10:30 a.m. on June 1, 2016. She then proceeded into the intersection and into the path of a 2012 Hino box truck traveling west and being driven by a Manchester, CT, man, when the two vehicles collided.

Nadeau suffered a fatal injury and was pronounced dead at the scene; the truck driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth.

No conclusion to the investigation has been issued and no charges filed but state police are looking for witnesses.

According to her online profile, Nadeau was to graduate from Plymouth Regional High School this Saturday.

Units assisting at the scene included personnel from the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F, New Hampshire State Police-Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, Rumney Police Department, Rumney Fire/Rescue Department and the Office of the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
