NH Weather: A Rainy Father's Day Is In The Forecast

For anyone planning to hit the tee for some golf this Father's Day, you may want to change your plans of make sure you have the rain gear ready. New Hampshire might get some rain on Sunday that could damper plans.

There's a 40 percent chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service. But if the rain does hold up, it should be pretty nice out with high temperatures near 72. Today might be the day to do something for Father's Day, since it's supposed to be sunny with a high of 79.

Just remember that although it's getting warmer out, it takes longer for water temperatures to rise. It's not yet safe to go swimming without the risk of hypothermia. Lake Winnipesaukee has temps in the mid 50s, as an example, and rivers and lakes north of the Lakes Region are even colder. The ocean temperature today at Hampton Beach is expected to be 56 degrees.

Whether its ten-pin or candlepin style, bowling can be a great way to have fun and get a little exercise inside. Often, bowling alleys will do special Father's Day deals, so this is definitely something worth looking into.

Sports Museums

In New England, sports are obviously a big deal, so before or after the Red Sox game at 1:05 p.m., why not head to Loudon and check out the North East Motor Sports Museum? If you want to travel a bit farther to Massachusetts, Sports Museum at TD Garden in Boston is also an option.
